How to take off as a business angel – The business angel investment

Our 7 sessions journey on “How to Take Off as a Business Angel?” has reached its 4th station.

On 7th June 6pm we kindly invite you to the next event of this breakthrough series, organised by the Women Business Angels Association WBA in partnership with Lumus Investments and HubHub Hungary, titled “Business angel investment”.

We held our latest episode on 3rd May where audience could deep-dive into the world of business angel investors, and get to know more about who are angel investors and what is their role in a startup’s lifecycle. Imre’s training first described the major characteristics of business angels, then he introduced us to the main elements, tricks and features of being a sole angel investor; then he moved on and presented angel investor groups and angel networks. As always, Imre Hild, MD of Global Traction and Training Lead of WBA will be leading the next monthly interactive training session. Stay tuned to the 7-training session throughout the year and learn more about investments and mentoring.

On this occasion we will have Zsolt Weiszbart (Partner/angel investor, Day One Capital) as guest expert.
Zsolt is currently active as a partner of Day One Capital. Our aim is to find the best talents in Central and Eastern Europe and provide them with the first institutional money to achieve their dreams. Our ticket size is between 300k Eur and 1,5M Eur.
15 +years experience in enterprise and SMB software sales, marketing and business development.

The training is free of charge, but requires registration. All the sessions will be held in English.

The training series is organised within the framework of the WINGATE Project, funded by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA and Norway Grants Fund for Regional Cooperation. This consortium work across Norway, Serbia, Hungary, Romania and Moldova, supporting and training women entrepreneurs and women business angels.

• Documenting and protecting intellectual property
• Defining and deciding about plausible outcomes
• The investment agreement

3. Syndicated BA investments

• Advantages of syndication
• How to distribute risk vs. maintain upside
• The lead investor vs. participating investors
• Define legal structure appropriate to the business
• Syndication options – local network vs. working with virtual investment pools

4. Exits & Exit strategies

• Reasonable return expectations
• The typical acquirors and their strategies
• What is M+A and how does it matter now
• How to stay on the winning side in an exit
• How M+A calculates company valuation
